MURALS AND PUBLIC ART
TRANSFORMED
I feel incredibly honored to have been hired by Portman Holdings to create a permanent piece of interactive art for their beautiful lobby known as The Passage at The Line.
TRANSFORMED features my floral and abstract painting translated onto giant, stainless steel butterfly wings thanks to @boingographics
I painted flowers in the wings to remind us of growth while being βrootedβ in history. Stainless steel was used for the wings as a nod to the industrial history in South End. I chose a butterfly for the installation piece which represents the transformation, new growth, development, change and renewal in South End, part of our vibrant city in Charlotte, North Carolina.
I hope youβll stand between the wings by yourself, with friends or family and ponder your personal growth and transformation.

THE LINE
My most recent mural #createitclt was completed in May with the help of my talented friend Eva Crawford @evacrawfordart. Together we planned and painted 6 giant shipping containers/a pedestrian walkway also located at The Line just a few feet away from the light rail.
The mural features bright abstract colors and a quote: the best way to predict the future is to create it. We also painted the entry doors on each side of the walkway with inspirational messages which read: keep going, you are loved and be encouraged. You can visit the doors and walkway best at 2161 Hawkins Street but you can see the full mural best behind @athertonsouthend and @trolleybarnclt
Color me happy
I painted a giant sidewalk mural called Color Me Happy CLT for Foundry Commercial which is located at 300 W. Summit Avenue in South End. Donβt forget to tag @carolinesimas #colormehappyCLT

Love where you live
In my hometown of Fort Mill, SC just 20 miles south of Charlotte, I painted an interactive mural @crossingsonmain.
Pop ups & More
Foundry Commercial @cltoffice discovered my work and hired me to paint a mural on the old office building at 2151 Hawkins Street in the fall of 2019, knowing it would soon be torn down and eventually become The Line. The mural read Good Things Happen Here #goodthingsat2151 and was present for a super fun block party to celebrate all the good things to come in this special location. Fast forward and now one portion of The Line is completeβ¦a massive 16 story office and mixed-use development with over 285,000 square feet of office space, roof terraces, and a ground floor food hall including Sycamore Brewery @sycamoretaproom which is now home to my butterfly installation #transformedclt (see above) + an original piece of my art near the elevators called Bloom Wild and the #createitclt mural just outside by the rail trail! As you can see, I sure do love @southendclt
@lululemon hired me to hand-paint a window display for the 2021 winter months in their South End/Atherton Mill store. The design featured snowflakes and the quote: Feeling is the gift.
My art was selected for one of the Windows of Hope by @artpopstreetgallery and was on display for a year on the side of The Hub Apartments located in South End and it read Love Grows Here.
